A Vintage Touch {Emily & Matt, Fallbrook Wedding Photographer}

One of our favorite things about weddings is seeing everyone’s personalities and style come through the details of their day.  From the wedding dress, shoes, table centerpieces, and all of the hidden treasures scattered throughout their ceremony and reception sites.  Emily and Matt’s wedding was filled with many, many hidden treasures.  Every part of their day was unique to them and absolutely beautiful.

Emily and Matt got married in this cute little church that Emily grew up in.  As wedding professionals we attend a LOT of wedding ceremonies.  And every once in a while there will be a ceremony that hits so close to home that it leaves us feeling renewed and convicted in our own marriages.  Emily and Matt had one of those ceremonies.  Her pastor came up with an acronym using the first two letters of each of their names (EMMA) to give them reminders about the commitment that they were making to each other.   It was so incredibly heartfelt and we were touched by the message he prepared for them.

After the ceremony, their reception was at Emily’s best friends parents house.  The reception was full of sweetest details.  Their dessert table was covered with homemade goodies and treats.  The cake centerpiece that was used on her grandparents wedding was one of the hidden treasures on there.

And for dinner, they had it catered by this vintage burger truck.  The food was incredible and the perfect touch to day.  With over 275 guests making a wedding reception seem intimate can be difficult.  But with homemade goodies and burgers it felt more like a celebration of love than a wedding reception.  And isn’t that what a wedding is really about?? Just sayin….

Emily and Matt!!! Congratulations on your wedding day!!  We LOVED being able to share in your special day and want to thank you all so much for having us!!!

When You Know…You Know {Jessie & Mark, Temecula Wine Country Photographer}

One of things that we love most about being Temecula Wine Country photographers is that we get to shoot some of the best weddings at some of the best venues out there.  Jessie and Mark’s wedding was no exception. It wasn’t just the best wedding because they got married at Villa De Amore.  It wasn’t the best wedding because their wedding colors and flowers were peacock inspired (although that would be a very good reason to name it the best).  It wasn’t best because her dress was out of this world or that they were SO into taking portraits.  Nope….it was the best because of who they are as a couple.

Jessie and Mark LOVE each other more than anything in the world and we LOVED getting to hear their story about how they met, their first date, their first kiss, how he proposed…everything about this couple was extraordinary.  I mean where do we even start…there’s SO many fun stories to share about them.  One of our favorite is how Mark proposed to Jesse during a “photo shoot” that he planned with his mom (who by the way is an amazing professional photographer).  They had Jessie model for a “Trash the Dress” session and little did she know she was actually modeling for her own proposal.

Another one of our favorite stories was how Jessie accidentally stood Mark up on what was supposed to be their first date.  Mark retold the story during his wedding vows and it was one of the sweetest moment of the entire day.  Mark  just knew that there was something about Jessie that he wanted to learn more about.  Something that told him that she was one and to ask her out again.  Something that he ultimately fell madly in love with and couldn’t imagine a day without.  And seriously, what is not to love about Jessie.  She is the strongest, funniest and most caring woman you could ever meet.

Mark & Jessie….it truly was a blessing to share in your day.  Thank you so all much for having us there!!

You + Me = US {Genice & Adrian, Murrieta Styled Engagement Session}

As many of you may know, we specialize in styled shoots. Styled shoots are where we have our clients work with our professional stylist to come up with photography scenes for them to use on their engagement session or wedding day. They usually involve furniture, vintage accent pieces, flowers, antiques and other miscellaneous items. Styled sessions are super fun and a great way to add that little something extra/pinterest worthy to your portraits. Its personally our favorite type of sessions to shoot because they are like walking on the set of a hollywood movie and every creative cell inside of our being goes into overdrive.

So, when Genice and Adrian decided to have THREE separate scenes for their engagement session it was like being in one of those great dreams you never want to wake up from. Karis over at Renew’d Furniture outdid herself as usual. She has this innate ability to turn adjectives into reality. To turn ideas into projects and chaos into beauty. She is SO incredibly talented and we are SO blessed to have her on our team. And for Genice and Adrain…they were the dream couple for a dream day. They were the type of couple that just rolled with what we told them to do…no matter how sillly it felt. They were the type of couple that let their guard down to have a good time and it totally came through in all of their portraits. If there is one piece of advice that we would give any perspective bride…its to make sure you trust your photographer. Make sure you trust that they know what they are doing and trust that they do it well…and then, let it all go and trust them to take control.

Truly Madly Sweetly in love {Nicola & David, Temecula Bakery Engagement Session}

Nicola and David met over four years ago while they were both stationed in Japan.  Since then they have traveled the world together and are going to get married this fall over at Villa De Amore.  Like us, they have a sweet tooth and a severe weakness for red velvet cupcakes.  Sooooo, what better place to have an engagement session than one of the chicest cupcake shops in town.

Truly Madly Sweetly was SO gracious to let us have some fun in their shop.  Our favorite part (besides the cupcakes) was watching how much David adores Nicola and how much Nicola loves David because their kind of love is why we started shooting weddings.  The kind of love that makes us giddy…the kind of love that makes us cry…the kind of love that movies are made of.

Nicola and David- thank you so much for having us be a part of your day.  We can’t wait for the wedding and see all of your planning come together!!

College Sweethearts! {Shannon & Tommy, San Marcos Engagement Session}

Shannon and Tommy met during a Film Studies class while they were attending Cal State University San Marcos.  They wanted to have their engagement session over by Discovery Lake but first wanted to make a quick stop at the campus.  It was neat to see where it all started with the two of them because they have been dating for 5 1/2 years.  Shannon and Tommy are such a fun couple.  We had the best time laughing and hanging out with the two of them.  Shannon has the most beautiful smile and Tommy would light up every time he saw it.  He absolutely adores Shannon and watching them together reminded us why love photography so much.  We truly are excited for their wedding day this fall over at St. Mark Golf Club.

Words can’t even describe how excited we are for you guys and for your big day.  Thanks so much for having us share in all of your happiness.

There’s no place like….here! {Tabitha & Phil, Murrieta Engagement Session}

As photographers, we are constantly looking for new locations to shoot at.  We are scouts but not the sports agent kind.  We scout as we drive to the grocery store, to Starbucks, to the mall, to the car wash…its one of those things that is always on our mind.  And when we find a new location or re-discover an old one…its like Christmas in July.  That is exactly what had happened for Tabitha & Phil’s engagement session.  We have shot at this location before but then we just stopped going there.  So, when I decided to take Tabitha & Phil there for their session, it was like the biggest “OH, Yeah…” moment.  I just LOVE everything about this spot.  I love the tall grass and old fence.  I love the concrete building and the way the sun shines through the windows just before sunset.  There’s really no place like it and that’s the best part of all.

After I took Tabitha & Phil on a stroll down memory lane…we headed over to the equestrian center.  Tabitha had the best outfits for both of her locations and I was LOVING everything about her cowboy boots.  We all had the best time together and after hanging out with them for this session it made me even MORE excited about their wedding over at Miramonte Winery.  They are madly in love with each other and their love is such a joy to be around.

Thank you all so much for choosing me to capture your wedding day!!  I literally, can’t wait!!

Temecula Valley Wedding Professionals Bridal Soiree {Wine Country Photographer}

We were beyond thrilled when we were invited to participate in the Temecula Valley Wedding Professionals Bridal Soiree over at Wiens Family Cellars.   The Bridal Soiree was divided into four different wedding themes to showcase the talents of several Temecula Valley wedding vendors.  Models were brought in, tablescapes were set and the show was absolutely amazing.  Several of our own brides stopped by to say, “hello” and walked away with some amazing ideas for their own day.  The first theme of the day was “Country Chic”.  It was all about bringing in that country flaire with a touch of shabby chic elegance.

The next theme was “Circus” and focused on lots of bright colors in the linens, florals and details.  This tablescape had popcorn for guest favors, the cutest vintage soda pops and hottest teal chandelier that we have ever seen.

The next theme was inspired by the “Great Gatsby”.  It reminded me of an old Hollywood set with the gold & black color scheme, pearls and vintage typewriter.

The last theme of the day was “Lounge”.  Lounge areas are becoming a lot more popular and give guests a casual area where they can all visit with each other.  We loved the use of the square stools and white leather couches.

Lastly, Leah got a chance to shoot some bridal portraits of the models around Weins property.

We were completely blown away by all of the amazing vendors that were showcased at the Soiree and look forward to working with them all this wedding season.  Thanks Temecula Valley Wedding Professionals for putting on such an amazing show!!  We LOVED being a part of it all and can’t wait for next years!!
